A pinning and graduation ceremony for 21 students who recently finished Jones College’s Practical Nursing program celebrated their accomplishments while overcoming many obstacles.
Christi Smith of Bay Springs is raising a 2-year-old and a 6-year-old with her husband Devan while enrolled in the three-semester program. She left her job at Magnolia State Bank after six years, to fulfill the dream she’s had since high school.
“Nursing school was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done, on top of having kids and a husband but I really enjoyed it,” Smith shared.
Taylor Swift collaborated with the Dixie Chicks on "Soon You'll Get Better," an extremely personal song off Swift's seventh studio album, Lover. The lyrics to "Soon You'll Get Better" will be familiar o anyone who's gone through the illness of a loved one.
Swift wrote the song about her experiences with her mother fighting cancer twice. Andrea Swift was first diagnosed with cancer in 2015, with Swift sharing the news in a Tumblr post.
The first season of ABC's new reality competition show, Claim to Fame, came to a close on Tuesday (Sep. 6) with its season finale. The show confirmed what many country fans had been speculating, too, as runner-up Logan Crosby's famous relative was revealed to be Jason Aldean.
The two are cousins, and the superstar country singer took to social media to confirm the news and share his support of Crosby.

Colt Ford will release a new album, Must Be the Country, on May 19. It's his first full-length project in three years.
The celebrate the announcement, Ford dropped the title track, which features Dillon Carmichael.
The 24-song collection will feature some guest vocals from Brantley Gilbert, Tracy Lawrence, Tracy Byrd and more. Ford was involved in writing five of the album's songs, while Gilbert, Eddie Montgomery, Brad Tursi, Adam Doleac and others have writing credits.
